With the shift towards cleaner energy and electric modes of transportation, the global oil industry is increasingly investing in petrochemicals - plastics - to maintain demand for fossil fuels. Single-use plastics could be responsible for 5-10% of annual greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in addition to causing important ecosystem damage.

With the rising shift away from traditional plastics in places like Europe, the petrochemicals industry is turning towards Africa to drive plastic demand. Its primary weapon is price - plastic today is cheaper than most alternatives. Natrify is building the means for us to fight back. It is developing a process to produce a petrochemical-free plastic alternative polymer - at a price that is cheaper than plastic.
